I have gotten this message several times and it's cost me numerous items. Why can't you bid ontime?

Lost due to eBay lag. eBay took 9 seconds to process the bid. We executed snipe at 23:11:26, and the item ended at 01:11:35.

You are partners with eBay so why can't you work together? This is making me want to find another service.

Actually, the bid was placed on time. What you are seeing is a reporting error due to the time zone difference between us and eBay. The system should be adjusting the time on the error message to reflect eBay time. We'll get that fixed. Here are the actual results from that snipe:

01:11:26 (snipe placed)
01:11:35 (auction ended)
01:11:35 (eBay response)

A normal response time from eBay eBay is 3-4 seconds, which gets your bid placed about 5 seconds before auction close. That also gives us a few seconds extra to account for a possible slow response. In this case it took 9 seconds to get a response back from eBay, too late for your bid to be accepted. Unfortunately, it is not something that we can fix. We do adjust our snipe times whenever we see an extended period of lag.
